Jevgenis Melnikov waves Thomas Dudley’s flag at the top of Mount Elbrus.
The flag of Thomas Dudley Ltd, manufacturer of the Dudley range of Bathroom and Plumbing products, has made its mark at the top of Mount Elbrus, the highest mountain in Europe.
Jevgenis Melnikovs, also known as Eugene, is an employee at Masefield-Beta Ltd, sister company to Thomas Dudley Ltd. On 7th August, Eugene climbed Mount Elbrus, which, in addition to its status as Europe's highest mountain, is also the tenth most prominent peak in the world.
Eugene climbed the mountain in stages, a climb that lasted four days in total. He was accompanied by his wife Svetlana, and his friends Artur and Vadim who are from his home town of Riga, in Latvia. The group was also accompanied by a local guide called Aleksei.
Eugene is an enthusiastic mountaineer and potholer, and enjoyed the challenge of Mount Elbrus, part of the Caucasus Mountain range separating Russia and Georgia.
Both Thomas Dudley Ltd and Masefield-Beta Ltd are extremely proud of Eugene’s accomplishment, and are delighted that he wanted to take our flag with him. If you're interested in your own expedition, take a look at the adventure website for more details.
